See What It Will Look Like
Curious what the finished video will look like? Here’s an example of a virtual choir video, edited together from everyone’s individual recordings:
What Is This?
We’re putting together a virtual choir — everyone records their own video singing along at home, and we’ll edit all the videos together into one video, side-by-side (think the opening of the Brady Bunch or Hollywood Squares!). It doesn’t matter if you’re a trained singer or you’ve never sung a note in your life — what matters is your heart and your participation.
Dress modestly, smile, and have fun worshiping Yahuah! That’s really all it takes.
What You’ll Need
- A phone, tablet, or computer to play the song
- A pair of headphones or earbuds (wired or wireless — either works)
- A second device (usually your phone) to record your video
- A well-lit spot with a plain, tidy background behind you
- Something to prop your recording phone against, or a tripod, so it stays still

Step 1: Learn the Song
Before you record anything, watch this video to learn the melody and hear exactly where our words are different — we sing “Yahuah” instead of “the Lord,” and “Kodesh” instead of “holy.”
Step 2: Download Your Singing Track
This is the instrumental track (no vocals) you’ll listen to through your headphones while you record. Download it to your phone or device ahead of time — don’t try to stream it live while recording.
Step-by-Step Recording Directions
Put on your headphones
Plug your headphones or earbuds into the device that will play the song (your “listening device”). This is very important — the microphone on your recording device should only pick up your voice, not the music playing. If the music leaks out into the room, it will be recorded too and that will make it hard for us to blend everyone’s voices together.
Set up your recording device
Turn your recording phone or tablet sideways, like you’re watching a movie (this is called “landscape mode”). Prop it up on a table, stack of books, or a tripod so it stays steady at about the height of your face — not too high, not too low.
Find good lighting and a clean background
Face a window or light source so your face is easy to see. Stand or sit in front of a plain wall or tidy space — nothing too busy or distracting behind you.
Start recording, then start the song
Press record on your camera first. Once it’s recording, press play on the song using your other device (the one with headphones plugged in). Give a little clap or wave right at the start — this little cue helps us line up everyone’s video together during editing.
Sing like you mean it!
Look right into the camera lens as if you’re looking into the eyes of a friend. Smile, worship freely, and don’t be afraid to show real expression on your face — even during instrumental parts. This is worship, not a performance to worry over!
Let it keep rolling at the end
When the song finishes, don’t stop recording right away — wait about 3-5 seconds before you hit stop. This gives us a clean, natural ending when we edit everything together.
Watch it back
Play your video once to make sure we can see your face clearly, hear your voice, and that the music from your headphones didn’t leak into the recording.
Submit your video
Name your video file with your first and last name (for example: FirstName_LastName), then upload it using the button below.
