“Look, here is water. What hinders me from being immersed?”
Acts 8:36
If Yahuah has placed the desire to be immersed on your heart, we would count it a joy to walk with you toward the water. Everything you need is here: the teaching, the video, and how immersion works with the Assembly of Yahuah.
Your path to the water
Immersion is personal, but you do not walk toward it alone. Because it involves the whole body of believers, it is a step we take together, with care and with patience. Here is what happens, in order.
Pray, and reach out to us
It begins with a desire Yahuah has stirred in you. Bring it to Him in prayer, and when you are ready, send us an immersion request. You will find the button at the end of this page, once you have read how the process works.
If you are not yet fellowshipping with the Assembly of Yahuah, that is the very first step, and we would love to welcome you.
Complete the immersion study
Before anyone goes to the water, we walk through a teaching on immersion together. The assembly will schedule this study with you. It is not a hurdle. It is so you fully understand the step you are taking and the meaning behind it, and can take it with a settled, joyful heart.
We arrange the details together
Here is the part that surprises some people: the date is not something you set on your own. Because an immersion often involves our elders, witnesses, and livestreaming, we plan the timing together, taking into account our elders’ availability if they will be taking part. We will meet with you (and your immerser, if you have one) to work out the logistics.
This isn’t red tape. It is simply how we make sure your immersion is done well, witnessed by the body, and celebrated fully.
Be immersed, and share your testimony
Then comes the joy. You are immersed, and the assembly celebrates with you. With your blessing, we love to capture and share these moments, and we often sit with you before and after to hear and share your immersion story.
One important thing
Please come with patience. Coordinating elders, immersers, witnesses, and livestreaming across many places takes time. The wait is never a sign of anything but care. We want to do this right, and we want to do it with you.
How and when immersions happen
Every immersion is a little different. Here are the ways they most often take place.
At an in-person feast
Twice a year the assembly gathers in person, once for Pesach and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and once for the Feast of Tabernacles. When an immersion happens at a feast, everyone attends an immersion study together first, taught by one of our elders, before heading to the water. All three of our elders take part, surrounded by many witnesses, and we livestream it so the whole assembly can share in the moment.
In person, another time of year
Outside of a feast, we usually coordinate one or more witnesses where possible, and let the assembly know so they can join by Zoom. We take our elders’ schedules into account, and when we are able, we hold immersions on the Sabbath, in the afternoon.
When there’s no immerser near you
If you don’t have someone nearby to immerse you, we will help. We look for a brother in your area, and by Yahuah’s kindness we have been able to connect many people.
ImmersionFinder.com also lists believers throughout the nation who are willing to immerse others, and connects them safely with those who desire immersion, whether or not you fellowship with our assembly.
